Teluk Intan, Kuala Selangor - CNY 5

Today is CNY day 5. It is also that last day of my holidays. I need to get back to work tomorrow (Saturday).My relative cooked a big seafood feast in the morning to fare us good bye that day. We ate well that morning and left Pantai Remis again. We promised to back soon, once we got long holidays like the current one. We head to Teluk Intan during our journey back to KL @ state roads.

Reached Teluk Intan around 1.30pm. Took some photos at the famous leaning tower. Notice that there is a local delicacies shop opposite the leaning tower and brought some home. I heard that one of Teluk Intan famous foods is the Ah Chai Rojak located besides the wet market. Brought 4 packages since I need to wait for 20 mins for it. After eating it, I found that it was not so special in anyway. It's kinda plain if you ask any people from the city like me. I can ensure you that I can find lots of rojak stall which fare better than him. Other than the rojak, I that I should try is the famous Chee Cheong Fun. Went there straight after Ah Chai Rojak as it is nearby only. But kinda disappointed because they open late. They said they will open from 6pm til 12am. Kinda too late for me as I am rushing home by then.

Traffic was nice and smooth during my journey home. Wanted to take my dinner before I reached KL and think that Kuala Selangor is the best stop for it. There is a few good seafood restaurant beside the river of Kuala Selangor. But we didn't stop there. We saw the restaurants were crowded. Besides there is no parking for our cars. So we headed back home directly.

I really enjoy my CNY holiday this year because I get to see and experience things that I have never experience before. And I hope you enjoyed your CNY as much as I do .....GONG XI FA CAI.....

Gopeng & Ipoh - CNY Day 4

Today is day 5 of CNY. Like usual headed to a nearby restaurant at Pantai Remis to have our breakfast. We order chicken rice, Western breakfast, prawn mee and some toasts for breakfast. It was the most delicious breakfast that I've tried before.Their toasts was superb. It was cut to small cubes with some thick home made kaya and butter. It was irresistible.

Today we decided to got to Gua Tempurung located at Gopeng, Perak. I heard that it has one of the magnificent views once you're inside it.The journey from Pantai to Gopeng took us sightly more than an hour.The cave was located near the Gopeng PLUS's exit. You will never miss it. The entrance fee is RM6 for adult & RM3 for children and senior citizen for a light package of 40 mins trip. For your information, they have 4 packages ranging from 40 mins to 3 hours trip depends on your stamina. each trip were guided by rangers. The inner part of the cave was astonish. I was speechless. It is a beauty within it. It was cold when you went inside it and it was quite an experience to climb all the stairs way to the top. If you never been there, then you should start planning now.

After some sweating at the caves, we thought that we might need some air-conn for our comfort. we head to Ipoh Parade for a shopping. Nothing much that I can said about Ipoh Parade as our (KL) is fared much more better than them. Parking is a hazard. Not much parking bays to cater most of the local and tourist there. For dinner, we decided to go for the famous Lou Wong Taugeh Chicken nearby. Upon arriving there, we found that the place were fully packed. Almost every tables have eyes staring at them. People were impatience while waiting for their turn on the tables. Lost by the menace of their stares, we went the to opposite restaurant, Ong Kee Restaurant. I heard many locals prefer Ong Kee rather than Lou Wong. Many mention, Lou Wong is only for the tourist. Is it true?

After some 20 mins waits, we got our table. Quickly, we ordered one plate of chicken, one plate of bean sprout & one bowl of pork meat balls. The meat balls were norm. Nothing special about it. You should skip it if you were to order it next time. Chicken were sold out by 6pm. Many were disappointed. The Ong Kee owner were seen furious with the mounting pressure from the massive crowds. I saw him shouting and scolding at his staffs.I really don't understand. He should be happy because of the over-whelming customers and he get to closed shop early that day because almost everything was sold out, but instead he choose to show his furious anger in front of his customers! What a shame!!

After dinner, we went back to Pantai Remis again. Feeling tired but happy for our trip to part of Perak state.

Pangkor Island & Setiawan - CNY Day 3

We wake up at 9am in the morning and went straight to the local morning market to search for breakfast. We brought a couple packs of mee, mihun, lobak kuo and soya bean. Breakfast were very cheap, ranging from RM1.20 to RM2.00 each. It was satisfying.

During breakfast, we were thinking where is our destination for today's trip? After a short briefing by our relative, we decided to go to Pangkor Island. I have never been to Pangkor Island before. We packed our things and left almost immediately. It takes us roughly an hour to reach Marina Island, Lumut. For your information, Marina Island is the latest and closest point to Pangkor Island. Previously, we need to travel to Lumut Jetty to go to Pangkor Island. Now with the new Marina Island point, we have cut off the travel duration in half.

You need to park your car at the parking bays which is quite inexpensive. We paid Rm3 for the whole day. The ferry tickets were affordable also, costing RM10 for adult (to & fro) and RM5 for children aged 4 to 11 (to & fro). The journey takes around 10 mins to reach Pangkor's Jetty.

Once you reached the jetty, there is lots of people asking whether if you wanted to rent a car or bike or even accommodation. I heard that they said renting a motorbike would cost you less than RM20 per day, which is rather cheap for me. As we have 7 people, we waived for a taxi instead. Most of the taxi (van) there were painted in pink colour.We ask for Teluk Nipah which is a famous place for snorkeling and the taxi driver take us to there for a fee of RM20.

Once we reached Teluk Nipah, we discover the beach water was very clear. The sand was very soft. It was an ideal place for beach vacation. We loved it. We ask the boat operator for the fee to go to Coral Island (Giam Island) and was told that it cost us RM10 per person for a trip around the islands and snorkeling goggles and vests.It was a bargain! We agreed and off we go!!!

It takes we around the islands, explaining the rocks structures. After that we were taken to an island of our desire and they left us there. Stranded on the island by ourselves, we were told that we could call the numbers given if we wanted to go home after of snorkeling. No time limit for snorkeling! What a day!

We found lots of sea cucumber on the coral reefs. Almost 50 pieces of it. Because we didn't know how to prepare or cook it, we decided to return all back to the sea. Wasted though, most of us thought as sea cucumber is a quite expensive Chinese delicacies. We decided that we had enough of snorkeling that day and left Coral Island at 5pm. We were sun burn though. Forgot to apply some lotion while snorkeling. After back to Pangkor Island, we take stroll on some shops located near the jetty . Brought some local delicacies such as fish satay, cuttlefish...etc. ( 3package for RM10).

We were tired, exhausted and starving.We headed to Setiawan for dinner. Dinner at Setiawan was rather cheap as the portion was big. After dinner, we headed back to Pantai Remis for a good night sleep.

Pantai Remis - CNY Day 2

Pantai Remis is actually located on the furthest west-coast of Perak state. The distance of travel time from Taiping to Pantai Remis is around 1 hours. You need to follow the trunk road leading to Lumut, Perak.

Pantai Remis is actually a fisherman's town. So I am expecting for cheap seafood while I'm there. I reached Pantai Remis just as I have expected 1 hour later. Traffic was smooth there. I went straight to my relative house. When I reached there, they were kinda busy. What do you know? They were busy preparing a big feast for the local school nearby.They been doing this every year. All students and ex-students would come to the school to give performance on stage. This is something we don't see in KL. Ask anybody in KL for a student reunion during the CNY and you surely will get a smack on the face! There were free foods sponsored by the school management but we couldn't wait for it. You have to wait for the live performance to end before we can dine at the canteen. Our stomach were growling for foods.

My relative decided to take us to a nearby hawker stalls. It was packed. We have to struggle to find a table. Feeling hungry, we order almost from every stall we could find. We are having fried oyster, pork rice, chicken rice, dried mee, popiah, prawn mee and some lobak for dinner. The dinner was very enjoyable.We had a few beers before we headed for our relative new bungalow. We are going to spend a few nights at his new bungalow. The bungalow was nice and big. Guess how much did he paid for it? RM190k only!!! Amazing!!! In KL now, new condos easily reached RM500k.
Thinking to migrate to Pantai Remis for retirement purpose? The cost of living there is much much cheaper than KL's.

Taiping, Perak - CNY Day 2.

Each year during Chinese New Year (CNY) eve till the 5th of the lunar calender, Kuala Lumpur (KL)city would be having its quietest moment. Most people would left the city by CNY eve. Highways and local trunk roads were packed with cars, jamming their way to their respective kampungs or holiday destinations. Some people even said that during this time you can actually drive your car in the opposite lane if you wanted to do so.

I visited my relatives in the first day of CNY and was wondering how am I going to spend my next day of CNY. You see, my holidays ends on the 5th of CNY. I have to start work only on the 6th of CNY. What am I suppose to do for the next 4 days? Then I decided to got to Taiping, Perak to visit my relative on the 2nd day of CNY.

I left KL around 10.30am and reached Taiping around 1.30pm. Traffic was smooth, although there is sightly jams near Ipoh.Lots of shops were closed. My family and I have to eat our lunch at the relative's house. Good thing they couldn't finish their reunion dinner and left some leftovers for us. Sensing Taiping were kinda bore, we decided to left for Pantai Remis around 6pm. (we have another relative staying at Pantai Remis).

Christmas dinner at Port Dickson.

When i think of beaches, the first place that comes to my mind is Port Dickson (PD), Negeri Sembilan. To many people who lives at klang valley, PD has been their favourite beach since the old days.

I haven't been to PD since 5 years ago and was eager to see how the place evolved. So I decided to have my barbecue dinner at the PD beach on Christmas day. Traffic was smooth. I reached the Rasah toll booth in 45 minutes. In another 15 minutes, I reached the beach. I found a nice spot beside the Bayu Beach Hotel and decided to set the grill there. We brought beers and lots of foods along. The dinner was superb. I didn't swim at the beach after my dinner. The water was filthy. Even though there are lots of visitors at the beach, the public toilets were limited to 2. I can see lots people queuing for it. You need to pay 50 cents just to pee in it. If you wanted to bath, that will cost you Rm1. I don't mind paying 50 cents just to pee, even though it is quite expensive to do so, but only 2 washroom in 1 toilet? Please think logically again. Other thing that I wish to speak out is the civil manner of the local visitor. They tend to throw rubbish and left-overs everywhere they suits. Maybe the authority should place boards stated "Jangan buang sampah! Denda Rm500" to prevent people from treating beaches like a dumping sites.

I believe more to be address if the State Government really wanted to promote PD as a world class tourist beach in Malaysia. Maybe I will visit it again in another 5 years to see how much has it evolves again.

Ice Cold Bier 冰冻啤酒坊 At Jalan Cheras, KL

Got a invitation at the ICB (Ice Cool Bier)Pub & Bistro at the Cheras today (15/12/2011). Went there straight away after work. They are giving out free beers from 8 to 9.30 pm on their opening. After 9.30pm, for each pint of beer, you need to pay for Rm10 only!!

The ICB was located at the main road of Jalan Cheras, besides the furniture shops after Tayton Garden (if you coming from Taman Connaught). You will never miss it. The environment was superb. We were greeted by free flows of beers and foods (until 9.30pm of course). There was a live band singing hits English and Chinese songs. There was four sexy dancers dancing on the serving tables to entertain the customers. If you can drink well, you might find yourselves in the "Beer Drinking Competition" that night. The winner can get him?herself a "Tower Beer", compliments of the house. You can actually see lot of sexy patrons around you. One thing that goes around your mind is that free beers, sexy gals and good songs to entertain you for the night.

I'll be sure to come back for more relaxing and comforting entertainment in the near future. CHEERS!!!

Flavors Restaurant, Swiss Garden Hotel - A Let Down.

Recently I've brought some Flavors Restaurant's (Swiss Garden Hotel) International buffet voucher valued at RM39 nett (original price RM68++) at the Everyday.com.my.

I thought it was a good deal since they are serving lots of International foods and seafood. It will be a great dinner for family members to get along before the end of the year. But I was wrong about it.

I made a reservation few days ago, thinking that they might be pack because of they over-whelming responds at Everyday.com.my. After I reached the restaurant, I found that they are hardly packed, only few tables were seated. Before I get a seat, I always walk around and see what are the good stuffs they are offering. In fact, I found nothing unusual or tempting.The sushi was limited to one choice and from the looks of it, I don't feeling like having it. Frankly Jusco Supermarket served far more better sushi than them. Most of the dishes they're serving is Malay delicacies such as rice with curries and veges. I really don't know what they meant by the word "International buffet". The only seafood which I saw were prawns which is not very fresh, tiny crabs and some hold-back mantis prawns.The dishes were limited. In fact they only offering coffees and plain water. No fruit juices. No teas.

This will be my last visit to the restaurant. It is not worth it even if they are offering another discount at RM30 per pax. Now I know why can't they sell their buffet at the normal price (RM68++) and need to depends on other marketing tools to sell for them. They really need to change their chefs and offer more varieties before they wanted to seize some portion of the market.

Malacca monorail - Disgraced the Nation.

The Malacca monorail have been faulty so many times even though it's new, it's a disgrace not only to the Malacca state but also the nation as well.

The latest incident where 18 tourists were stalled during their ride made the country shamed. Everybody who read the news will definitely shook their heads to disbelief.

The state government should scrap the rail and ask for refund from the company who build it since it's unreliable to use it anymore. Don't make us a laughing stock from the eyes of the world again.

Subway's new deal.

I have always fond of Subway's sandwiches. I also understand by having Subway's, means that I have to dig a bit more into my pockets.Frankly, I think they are not cheap.

Today I think I am going to treat myself some Subway's sandwiches because I have a very good reason to it. I just saw "The Sun" newspaper and there is an advertisement about the Subway's "FREE one 6" sandwich when you buy any 6" sandwich and a regular drink".
o I went to a nearby Subway's branch and get myself to order an Italian sliced chicken sandwich and Parmesan tuna sandwich, and a regular coke of course. The bill came out to be RM14.50. (Normal price is roughly Rm26).

The deal will ends on the 1st Dec 2011. So, if you intend to grab this bargain, kindly make yourselves to the nearest Subway now!

RM100.00 for Every Student.

Lots of cars and people are jamming the schools today. Parents and guardians waiting for their turns to collect the Rm100.00 per student; given by the government to ease the burden of parents under the recent budget announcement.

I must admit as it is caring for the government to do so but it is also hectic day for most parent. Some parents need to go to more than one school, if they have another children schooling at other places. Imaging having to rush from school to school, just to receive the money. If one is working, he/she might have to take half day off for it. Why all the publicity? Just deduct the Rm100.00 from the next year's school books or fees. Wouldn't that be more wise?

How many parents will be using the money that they received for their children books next year? I doubt it. Many will use it for other commitment instead.

Bad service and Good deal - Pizza Hut Malaysia.

Thinking what to have for lunch is quite headache sometime. Suddenly I thought of Pizza Hut's online Buy One Free One promotion. Do you know that when you purchase the Supreme/Family pan pizza (large) you are entitled for a free large thin crust pizza at Pizza Hut?

It's definitely the most cheapest pizza's promotion one can find (2 larges for only Rm29.90 excluding tax). The promotion is great but the service is not. Currently their website is having some problem. Whenever you try to confirm your order, it will show error, please contact their hotline. Eager to purchase the good deal, I called up the hotline to complain about the website's denial. The operator wasn't helpful. He couldn't rectify the problem for me as he kept asking me to try over and over again (I done it couples of times before calling the hotline) . I even ask him to place the order for me. He told me that the promotion is only valid for online purchase. He make it a point that calling them wouldn't get you a free pizza. He also told me that even if you able to purchase it, there isn't anyone to delivery it. There is shortage of staff.

Why telling me all this things? It's not my concern that they are shortage of staffs and their website is down. They should be solving the problems instead of complaining back to the customers. Making calls to them and surfing their website makes you frustrated and starving. You could starve to death before your pizza makes it to your door step.

Klang Bus Station - KL's Most recognize Landmark.

The year 1988, I was waiting for my red color Klang bus at the Klang bus station, Kuala Lumpur around 4.30pm. (Why named it Klang bus or Klang bus station in the first place? Shouldn't it be KL bus station?)

I need to get my ass back home before (5pm) the mad rush as most people depends on Klang buses to get home after their hectic work. You may need to wait for more than an hour to two, during the mad rush as you will find it very often that most of the buses were heavily packed. In those days, people are willing to risk their lives standing on the stairs of the bus's entrance. It's very common particularly in the Mini-bus. Tickets were quite cheap back then. I could get home (15 km) by simply paying 50 cents during those days. Now days, 50 cents can only get you some sweets.

Before the rush hour starts, inside the Klang bus station was not well lighted. The fumes from buses were unbearable too. You need to hold your breath sometimes to survive in it. But the smell and dim vision doesn't bother me. It's the crime, within it which does. There were drug addicts,snatchers, pick-pockets and gangsters hanging around at the station. You need to be careful with your wallet and valuables. I got mugged and extorted twice in my encounters by a drug addict and few gangsters back then. After those "experiences", I would rather wait for my bus outside the station which is much more brighter beneath the sun. It was much safer then. Beggars were sleeping and begging for money at the side -walks. That would bother me much as I try not to interact with them. I don't want any trouble anymore during my waits.

Today is the last day for Klang bus station to operate. They will be shutting down to make way for the MRT underground project. Well, what can I say? So long and good bye forever to Klang Bus Station, one of KL's most recognize land mark.

I still remember not too long ago, about 15 years, most people are paying an average RM100 for their mobile phone bills, even if they seldom use it. Protect Our Wealth. Manage Funds Effectively.

Every year we all have heard of the Auditor-General's reports about misused funds, excessive purchases, poor financial managements, stocks purchased without usage...etc.

We heard it all! What are the solutions to all these problems? "Depts and agencies told to take heed of Auditor-General's report"? (The Star dd. 25/10/2011) What if they choose not to heed them? Who can force them? I think the problems have reached to a stage that is almost impossible for them to heed. I think many people are involved. The most effective ways to stop it once and for all is to link it (the all wrong doing in the reports) to the Anti Corruption Agency. Let the agency investigate if any crime involved.

I really hope that our country's money were well-spent. Please don't waste it for the better hood of the citizens. (Our country's debt has risen to RM407 billion)

A Pink Day at BR.

To some, any men wearing pink shirts would be sissy. Well, today I'm wearing one. Believe it or not I do like to wear pink shirt occasionally. My love for pink color grew bigger since I loves to watch "Pink Panther" in the old days.

Today I got a bigger excuse to wear a pink shirt. For Baskin Robbins, every Wednesday is a pink day for them. A pink day will entitle you for a good deal for their ice-creams. You may able to buy a Double Scoop Jr for the price of RM7.50 only (excluding taxes).

For those who really love BR ice-creams, go get yourselves some pink shirts or hat or glasses..... and wait for the next Pink Day at BR!

Taiping Night Safari Zoo.

Last Sunday I need to travel to Taiping, Perak to attend a relative wedding dinner at the Kwang Tung Association. Traveling was a breeze as there wasn't any jams on the highway. It took me around two and a half hours to reach there.

I never been to Taiping before this. Road was less crowded as I've expected. It was just a small town to me. Hawkers food was quite affordable ranging from RM3 per bowl. The most famous restaurant in Taiping has to be the Bai Ling / Prima Restaurant. There is lot of foods to choose from the stalls. I can see Mee Keling (Rebus), Seafood Porridge, Pan Mee, Wan Tan Mee, Lobak, Chicken Rice, Har Mee....etc. I got a recommendation from the locals to try out the Pan Mee and Seafood Porridge and it turn out to be impressive. No doubt about it. As for the Wan Tan Mee, it is out of my list. Nothing special about it as I have tasted better ones at KL.

Wedding dinner started 7pm on that day. I reached there 6.30pm. Early? Yes, I thought out station's dinner suppose to be punctual as there was no jams. I was wrong. I waited for another 90 minutes before dinner started at 8pm. The delicacies was fair and average. You simply couldn't ask for more when dinning at Chinese's Associations. Dinner ends at 10pm and it's a bit early to go to bed after this, in fact. After some discussion with relatives, we decided to visit the Taiping Night Safari Zoo. It's the only night safari in Malaysia, I believed; and I never been one before. The local able to get a 30% discount for the entrances (RM11 per adult after discount). We sought one of our local relative to buy 13 adults' tickets for us. The last call for the entrance is 10.30pm. we were the last batch for the train ride to the Zoo.

The night was dark. I have a feeling that the animals were half a sleep and a bit tired to entertain us. We couldn't see much but manage to see some Rhinos, Tigers, Lions, Leopards, Alligators and Elephants. Monkeys seem to gone to bed early that night. I didn't even catch a glimpse of it. Personally, I think much need to be done to make the Taiping Zoo more attractive. I never been to the Singapore night Safari before but I believe they are the best in the region. Maybe we can learn a thing or two from them to make it more entertaining and worth visiting any time (day or night).

A Dim Sum Trip to Ipoh - Foh San Restaurant.

Recently there is simply too much holidays. I have found out that staying put at KL is damn boring. One day, I decided to treat myself a dim sum breakfast at Ipoh. So why having dim sum so far? I heard that lots of people saying that Ipoh have the best Hong Kong dim sum in Malaysia and I'm going to find out why it is so.

I left home around 9 in the morning and began my journey to one of the famous dim sum restaurants in Ipoh, Foh San Dim Sum Restaurant. Foh San Dim Sum Restaurant is located in the middle of the city. For those who wish to know further, here's the address and numbers: 51 Jalan Leong Sin Nam, 30300 Ipoh, Perak. Tel: (605) 254-0308.

Since I am driving comfortable and not rushing to my desination, I reached there 2 hours later (11am). I was thinking at that time, it shouldn't be crowded but I was wrong. I think for the locals there dim sum is not only for breakfast but lunch too. There is lots of people buying the famous moon cakes made by the restaurant itself. Almost every moon cakes were sold out. Business was that good. I couldn't find myself a table on the ground floor, so I decided to take my chances on the first floor instead. To my dismay, it was the same situation. Peoples were waiting in front of every occupied table. I can see some were humming for showing their displeasure. Some even stared back at me and their hearts were saying "Get lost, punk! I saw this table first!".

After a few attempts of table-glaring, I finally got "half a table" (need to share the other half with a couple). Quickly, I asked the waiter to make an order of teas and pass the order card to me (you need to have an order card to order your dim sum). I've ordered siew mai, char siew pau, har kau, pei tan mai, har jiu mai, hong kong chi cheung fan, loh mai kai and some dumplings. All the dim sum was satisfying and the bill came out to be RM41 including taxes. Not bad at all. I will surely come back again for others dim sum which I haven't try yet. Ipoh Dim Sum, anyone?

This means you have to to fork out another RM6 (tax) for a RM100 reload ticket or Rm1.80 (tax) for a RM30 reload ticket. Now days owning a mobile phone is not only essential and but an equally important communication device. I think it is not fair for the telcos to pass to taxes to the clients, moreover the government taxing us for it. The telcos already pay company taxes (28%) from their profits, so why are they taxing another 6%?

If we choose to eat at a fine restaurant or fast food outlets, then tax us. How can they tax us when we choose to eat economy rice at a stall? To me, having a prepaid line is like eating a economy rice at a stall and having a post paid line is like eating at a restaurant. Please be more considerate.

Paya Wetlands lost his Charm.

Two more days and we will be celebrating the Hari Raya; which falls on this coming Tuesday and Wednesday. Three straight holidays in a week (Merdeka's replacement holiday on Thursday). Many started their holiday last Saturday, so Monday is an unofficially holiday for most people.

Today i followed my friend to the Sepang district, in Selangor. We went to Dengkil for breakfast. After asking one of our local friend, he guided us to the famous restaurant (成记)beside the Dengkil's police station, for its famous prawn mee.

After breakfast, we went to the nearby Paya Wetland, Dengkil. I believed the government is trying hard to promote the place, but I think it lost its charm. The place was beautiful but not attractive at all. The main attraction of the Wetland is the crocodile and hippo lake but I can hardly see any hippo and crocodile there. I believed that I saw a hippo with its back facing the lake surface and that's it. I couldn't even see a full picture of it. Even the crocodiles were hiding in the lake. How can the tourist be entertain when most of the attraction were hiding from them? No body will ever visit it after the first visit. I think it will be my last visit to the place too unless they make some major changes for it.

If I were to make some changes on the Paya Wetland Resort, I would change it to an open safari zoo. Tourists can drive their cars into the Wetland's compound, observing the animals roaming freely nearby their chalets. Only the dangerous ones will be cage, e.g. tigers, crocodiles, hippos, leopards, elephants...etc. Others like any kind of birds, monkeys, zebras, horses...etc can roam freely. I would definitely stay at one of their chalets while observing the animals there. It will be a good experience to watch your favorite animals after waking up in the morning. The children will enjoy it most too.

We make our way to Morib after that. I have been to that place since 20 years ago. We arrived at the Morib beach shortly. The beach is well planned. They have clean and well maintain toilets, surau (place of worship) and retails. The only negative thing is the water at the beach. It was filthy dirty. I wouldn't let myself go into the water. A stroll on the beach and playing the kite (RM4 per piece) sold there is good enough for me. We left the Morib beach after spending almost an hour at it (rated higher than the Paya Wetlands' 10 minutes).

Our next stop is the Tanjung Sepat which is famous for their seafoods and local delicacies. I brought myself some fish balls (RM10 per packet)and some fish satey (RM4 per packet). We left short after some purchases, and pass-by the Sepang Gold Coast at Bagan Lalang ( short distance after Tanjung Sepat). Franky, the water condition at Sepang Gold Coast is more likely to have a holiday there. The sands at the beach were very fine and the beach was clean. Good choice for holiday.

Why not try having a one day trip to the Sepang district in your next visit to avoid other crowded places?

Last Sunday I made my way to one of the favorite Japanese buffet restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, Shogun Buffet Restaurant. The reason of my visit is because I got some 50% discount vouchers for it (normal price is RM68, after discount would be RM34 per person).

Shogun Restaurant have just open a new branch at the Feihenreit Kuala Lumpur (KL Plaza) on the early this month. You actually need to book your seats in advance to avoid disappointment. Buffet lunch starts at 12 noon and ends at 3pm. I made my way there around 12.30, a bit late though. The patrons were waiting patiently for their seats. Some left without getting any. So, remember to book your seats early.

My first round of dish would be the famous tempura. The serving of the Tempura is quite slow. In the matter of fact, I found that lot of famous dish were serve quite slow too. Maybe it's a tactic to delay it. Who knows, they might occur losses if the demand is higher than the supply. I only choose Shogun Restaurant mainly because of the 50% discount, otherwise there is better "generous" restaurants out there, if you know what I means.

p.s. Though I really enjoy the green tea ice-cream from King's (had full 3 bowls of it)

Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

My father In-law always like monkeys. I took him to the Kuala Selangor to see some local monkeys there last few months. This time I took him to see monkeys again, at the cinema....Rise of Planet of the Apes (RPA).

Most of the city's cinemas were packed, so it is kind of hard to get some tickets in a short notice. Good thing I knew a place which is not crowded even it is a blockbuster movie. The MBO at Desa Petaling, I never fail to get a seat for my favorite movies even at the last minute.

The movie (RPA)was quite exciting from the begining of the show till the every last end of it. Frankly, from my point of view, it ranked higher than Dark side of the Moon. I hoped that the part 2 will be equally exciting as this one. The virus outbreak have wiped-out human race in a short time, and the monkeys have came out from the jungle to rule the planet Earth. Their king would be the mighty Caesar, of course.

Ramadan Bazaar Bandar Tun Razak, KL.

My Muslim friends already began their fasting last week. One thing that I enjoy most during the fasting season is the Ramadan Bazaar which held nationwide from the first day of fasting till the eve of Hari Raya.

I heard that there is a Ramadan Bazaar in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur; which had 250 food stalls to spoil you. I've never been to a bazaar which consist more than 100 stalls.So I thought it would be nice to go there and pamper myself with the local delicacies. The place was located just in front of the car park of Tasik Permaisuri,Bandar Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur.

I've arrived at 5pm to avoid "unwanted jams" either along the roads or inside the bazaar. There is lot of foods to choose from. I just simply can't get my eyes of them. I wanted to buy all of it as it was so tempting even for me whom didn't fast that day. There were a lot of Malay's kuih. I hardly recognize and name them. I can see one stall selling Japanese's Tako while others were selling mee, different types of rices, burgers, roti john, satar, otak-otak, goreng ayam dara.....etc.

This sort of bazaar is a good crowd-puller. Our government should help to promote local's foods to foreigners/tourists by conducting a nationwide bazaar like this in every weekends. Relax the rule and permits and allow the rakyats to earn some income during the weekends. I have seen a successful bazaar at Suan Lum,Bangkok; which were held every weekends to help the rakyats there earn a living and to promote tourism there. A win-win formula.

Recently I brought myself a few hot ticket valued at RM15 each. After careful review, I found that the hot ticket is not so hot after all. Last year each RM15 hot ticket comes with free 2 pieces of KFC on top of 120 minutes calls, 300 sms & valid for 10 days!

This year, Maxis cut off everything into half except for the fried chicken; you can only get 50 minutes calls, 150 sms and the validity is only 7 days!!!! I felt like dumped for 2 piece of KFC as a bait!!

The Kings of Fruit have came once again! You can actually see lots of durian stalls on the road side recently, and it's quite tempting. Every time I drove by the durian stalls, I just can't get my eyes off them.

Most of the local durian were selling at 2 or 3 pieces for RM10, depends on the size of each fruit. For the higher grades, they will measure it by weight @ RM18/kg; which is quite expensive.

Recently, I found a place which you could get higher grade durian such as D101, D2 and D24 for as low as RM5/kg. And the best thing of all, you can buy it whenever you feel like having it, 24 hours a day because the durians were sold at the NSK Hypermarket (24hrs). If you are curious about how much can you actually get for RM5/kg, well... I can tell you that I have brought 6 durians D24 for the price of RM32 only!!! It's a bargain for durian lovers!!! Not only price wise attractive, but all the durian you brought, came with a guarantee! Any durian which is bad or riped, you can change back a new one later on. So please don't throw away the receipt after purchase.

Now that's one safe and cheap way to enjoy your graded durians!

Funeral Taboo.

One of my relative passed away on last Saturday. Road blocks and jams wouldn't stop me from attending the funeral and give my respect to her.

Many of my relatives and friends are very "pantang" (taboo) about going to people's funeral. They afraid the bad luck might pass it on to them after visiting the dead ones.

Everybody will die some day. Having relatives and friends to bid "farewell" and pay their last respect is the least they could do. I think nothing taboo about it. Imagine this; your good friend didn't come to your father's funeral because of "pantang", do you still want to go to your best friend's father funeral in the future instead? I doubt it. I believe lots of your friends and relatives wouldn't care much going to your father's funeral either because "You "pantang", I also "pantang"! It's like the saying, "You respect me, I respect back to you."

I true friend or relative will never stop respecting you (even if you are dead) because of "pantang".

NO to illegal or even legal rallies!

In about less than an hour later, most of the city will be full of road blocks and closures. I was doubtful about going to work tomorrow and bear the risk of being stuck in the traffic jams for hours and most importantly, risking my staffs' lives for it.

I sure the intention for the rally was good but sorry to say it was a bad idea to hold rallies in the city which can cause inconvenience to lots of people who try to make a living on that day. I can bear their pains. No wonder thousands of police reports being made about the illegal rallies. Shops, offices, restaurants & etc, all will be closed on that day. Business will be in a complete halt. Millions of ringgit will be lost. Even shops owners are afraid of their properties being vandalize.

I always think that no matter what you do, as long as it doesn't hurt/abuse/effect in terms of physically or emotionally of the peoples around you, then you may proceed with it.

I saw a newspaper headline today stated that MCMC has blocked 10 files sharing websites to avoid any illegal movies download. Does the move really serve its purpose of restricting peoples from downloading from the webs? I think not.

I think they just took the rights of freedom, from millions of web surfers. Beside than sharing movies, mp3 in the file sharing website, there are other things which one can share; example documentations, photos or even private videos.By blocking a few website would not stop the illegal downloading. There were thousands or maybe millions of free movie download websites. A simple search from Google will show 150 millions of such websites.

I think the problem of illegal movie download is already reach a point that is quite difficult to attend with. A simple blockage will not stop everybody from doing so. Maybe the movie producers and companies should think of a way to legalize the crap and by doing so, make some money from it.

Treasure our Jewel - Sea Turtles.

One of Malaysia greatest asset is that our country is a breeding place for sea turtles. Ask anybody where can they find breeding ground for sea turtles, and they will tell you to go for Terengganu State.

That's too far for a KL guy like me. Do I have another choice of places to watch the fantastic creature? The answer is YES! I've found the place in Lumut, Perak State.Not many people know about the place. This is the first time I've seen baby turtles or even adults in such a close range. It was really worth the visit. Check it out!

No Mobile Service at Tesco, Scott Garden.

Recently there is lot of shopping complexes and hyper markets opening in klang valley. The latest is the Tesco at Scott Garden, Old Klang Road. Located nearby the famous 4th miles of the Old Klang Road's morning market.I went there to have a check on the place, and found it nothing unusual.

Basically everything looks like the Taman Midah's Tesco. I can't really tell the different from it. I meant the renovations and the placing of the items. One thing that I notice is that there isn't any mobile services in the market itself. Maxis or Celcom network doesn't rule here! So if you happen to shop there, be prepare to be cut off from the "outside world"!

Chinese Calligraphy for Investment.

During my school days, one of my favorite subject is Art. It is not that I can draw very well but I really enjoy what I drew.

Recently I heard that there is a great artist staying at Klang valley, and he can draw Chinese calligraphy very well. I went there on that particular night just to meet the great guy, with my friends.He was quite busy upon our arrival and made us waited for an hour. I felt intimidate by the long wait. I told myself to wait till 11.30pm, and no more further after that.

Surprising, the "artist" called upon us within 10 minutes and asked us to join him. He shows some of his masterpieces. I had to admit it, they were awesome! Every single piece of the drawing is spectacular! He wanted to show-off his drawing skills to us and immediately he took out his brushes and paints, within seconds he was painting. He was very fast at it. Though I waited till 2.30 am for the painting to finish. It was the most breath-taking Chinese calligraphy/painting I ever seen, and it was worth the wait.

Later I was told that he is one of the top 10 Chinese calligraphy artist in the world,10 years ago. He won several awards in China and Taiwan. I thought it was a good investment to buy it, so without any hesitation I brought the piece of painting which he drew that night. Price wise? He can ask for the sky but it's my call to offer what I can afford only. In the end of the night, I think I got a good deal.

Hopefully I can sell it 10 years later for a decent RM10, 000? Hahahhaha.....

Jams and Pricey Foods at Penang.

This recent holiday (Labour Day), I went to Penang and to found myself stuck in the jams. The PLUS Highway's jam was the worst that I ever seen. I slipped to the state road bypassing the Kuala Selangor, and found it slightly better than the highway's condition. Traveled from 5.30pm and reached Setiawan at 10.30pm. My ass burst with flames.

Had my dinner at the Setiawan there. Good thing they (hawkers) didn't close early for a small town like Setiawan. Ordered a big bowl of prawn mee, as I was starveling. Think I could eat a cow here! The prawn mee came quite fast. The portion was generous and it came with 2 large prawns and half boiled egg. Guess how much it cost me? RM4 only!!! CHEAP!!!!

After dinner , I left for Pantai Remis, famous for cheap seafoods. It took me almost 1 hour to reach Pantai from Setiawan. The roads was very dark. I can hardly see anything. Stayed a night at Pantai Remis and left first thing in the morning to Penang. It took another 2 hours for me to reach Penang. The Penang bridge was smooth but the city wasn't. It was suffocate with traffics. Going to Penang Hill is a bad idea (the Star stated there is 10000 visitors on that particular day). Going to Kek Lok Si was also bad, so as Tangung Bungah, Gurney, Queenbay Mall,....etc.In the matter of fact, you shouldn't be going to Penanag at all in this kind of season. You will be spending much of your holiday in the car if you do. The famous Char Kwei Teow was packed with customers! I really don't believe it!! A large plate of Char Kwei Teow costs me RM9 per plate!! And to make matter worse, you need to wait AT LEAST 45 minutes for it!! I ordered a large plate of Oh Chien, and it costs me RM16!!! What can I say? This is definitely a robbery!

I pretty sure there is much more places with good and cheaper foods than Penang. It's up to you to explore these places and share with us (don't worry,we won't spoil the place with price hike like Penang's).

Shopping........at 3AM?

I remember when I was a young adult, I would go out at night for some movies, supper or even some beers at the bars. Once in a while, I would also go to discos too, to feel some night life excitement and kill off some boredom.

As I grew older, discos, bars or pubs will be out of my night hours list. Even midnight supper is unhealthy for mid-aged guy like me (that's how I got my pork belly). So how can we kill boredom in the middle of the night without taking any alcohols or even increasing my waist by eating midnight supper?

Why not give it a try by having a midnight excise; or shall I say shopping at the NSK trade city? Recently there is an NSK branch open up at the Kuchai Lama. I only knew about their 24 operating hours, after i read their notes on the wall. I clarified with their staff, and was told that the operating hours were permanent. This means I can do my shopping whenever I pleases (e.g. 3in the morning). What a convenience I must say!
Beside after some minor check on the prices, I found it quite cheap, compare with some famous hypermarkets. Check it out yourselves!

No More Nasi Lemak, Mee Goreng, Roti Canai........at School.

I still remember those were the foods I ate when I was schooling 20 years ago. I wouldn't know what to eat if all those were banned later. It's okay if they banned the carbonate drinks, but what about the artificial drinks like "sirap", "oren"....etc. Would they banned it too? If yes, then I think we are better off with clear water instead. If I put some imagination on it, I think I know what sort of foods are they proposing. Well for breakfast the canteens will be serving breads with butter or jam & some milk. As for lunch it would be some rice with a bit of meat and lots of veges. You may also have salads and fruits if you want to. No more snack foods ever again! All the vending machine previously serving cokes, 100 plus....will be changed to Good day milk, Yakult or even Perrier!

The ministry may be able to control the students from taking junk foods at the school compound, but what about the stalls outside the school area? Can they prevent it too? Some stalls even sold cigarette to students outside the school compound, can they stop it too? One thing for sure, the school canteens wouldn't be enjoying brink business anymore comparing to the stalls outside, after the enforcement.

Almost everyday when we flip to the headline of the news, we can clearly see..... Anwar's Scandals, Teoh Beng Hock's inquiries, Datuk Ts, RPK.... etc; don't we get bore with it?

It looks like those stories did not get behind us. We will never move forward with all those dirty and shameful scandals in our minds. For once and for all, end it. We wish to hear more good news instead, in the future. Please don't shame the country anymore as we are in the mist of watchful eyes of the world, and they are laughing at us this every moment.

You decide: RM50 millions for NGOs or wasted?

Recently the Government wanted to invest RM50 millions to setup an email account for every citizen in this country. "Wasted", "Bullshit", "WTF"....hit it on my head immediately.

I owed 3 free email addresses and I won't be feeling proud for having a "PAID" email account. Why wasted the monies when there are existing freewares email on the net? I would be happy to provide the government my email address if requested. That's shouldn't be an issue.

The RM50 millions would be better off going the the charity, orphans & welfare houses. We can easily helped 100 NGOs by providing them RM500 000.00 each!!!!

Two more days to CNY. Peoples flocking to the malls and hypermarkets to grabs some great bargains. Some bargains are quite difficult to resist. Monies were spend without any second thought. This proves Malaysian does have great buying powers.

Last week, local banks releases new notes on Monday and its was crowded with peoples till the last hour of the office.I got to change some new notes on Tuesday, luckily. It was like a mad rush. By Wednesday, all new notes were "gone". I wonder why doesn't the banks provide enough notes for their customers for this coming important festival? Why does the customers have to queue up to get the new notes? Can't they deposit it to the ATMs, and let the customers withdraw themselves? Why does we have to bear all the hassle of doing it every year?

Lots of people have to do with the old notes for the angpows this year. It wouldn't be the same if one accepted a angpow with old notes inside. Personally I would use it straight away, rather than saving it for the future. New notes does really matter during this period.

Sekinchan (适耕庄): Seafood Lovers' Paradise.

Many housewives are racing to buy foods for their reunion dinner on the eve of Chinese New Year.Seafood are the favorite choices for such occasion.

Recently, seafood prices are sky-rocketing due to higher demand during the CNY festival.Most people would buy them in the local wet markets. Prices in the wet market are deem to be higher; the measurement they used is in "kati"; which is approximately 600grams. In short, the buyers will lose out in term of mass per price.

People are getting smarter. They would travel distant to search for cheaper and fresher seafood.The most favorite place would be Sekinchan (适耕庄). You can actually lots of cheap seafood there. Ranges from shrimps, fishes, squids or even shark; which is famous for Chinese delicacies there. One kilo of shrimps costs me RM8 only compare with the KL's local market which is selling RM13 per KATI!!! I even brought a kilo of big prawns; RM25/kilo (city CNY prices:RM52/kati)(city normal prices:RM33/kati). Brought a whole 2 kilo shark at RM18; you can even get yourself some shark-fin with it.

Broga (茅草山): Adventures waiting to be discover!

Chinese New Year is just around the corner, 2 weeks away. Most people prefer to jam the malls, shopping for new year cloths and things. I prefer to do the other thing around, shopping for temples for a new year 4D forecast!

Before this, I heard lots of people said about a temple in Broga, the outskirt of Semenyih, Selangor; which is very accurate about 4D forecast. Many people won prizes in the 4D forecasts and contribute some money to the temple. So I might as well try my luck there. The Chinese temple is located at the end of Broga road, after you see the Broga police station, instead of turn right to Mantin, go straight ahead into the Chinese's village. You will never miss it.The scenery was superb.You should bring your kids along there. I sure they will love it.

Along the road heading to the Chinese's temple, there was quite some restaurants on the side of the road. You should able to notice some of it consist Kedai Makanan Ja Xiang, Restaurant Broga, Happy Fruit Restaurant, to name a few. There a also a Rabbit Funland Theme Park along the road for the kids who loves animals. Opposite the theme park is the famous Broga Hill which offer a scenery which is difficult to describe in words. The slopes are quite slippery and steep. Better to gear up before conquering her.

No much people know about this. There is a Thai temple at Broga. You cannot actually cruses your way there using GPS. It's not in the map. On your way to Broga hill, the Nottingham University suppose to be on your right side, before it, there is a wooden factory; make a right turn to it after you seen the factory. Go straight till you reach a T junction, turn right and go straight. You will see some bunglows on your right side. Go straight till end of the road. I meant the tarred road. You need to drive off road and go straight further. There is no signboard what so ever. I'm sure that you hope that you are driving a 4WD while you on it. It will take around 10 to 15 minutes before you can actually see the Thai temple. It located on a hill. Most people goes there to "开光" their car's plate number. There is also lot of people who wish to "改运" and better still, getting a reliable 4D forecasts.

I having been using a Maxis fixed line all this while. I was going to terminate the service today.

I called Careline and was told that they have a branch in The Gardens, MidValley MegaMall.It was located at T231, 3rd Floor. It was mild crowded when I reached there, at 4.43pm.I got a number stated 0106 and the current number is 0995. The queue should be fast, since there is only 11 persons in front of me.And I was WRONG to think of that!

I waited patiently for my turn until it was 6pm shown on my watch. The current number stand at 0100 and I gave up! If I were to wait till my turn, I think I would missed my dinner or even my supper! Maxis is a big company, but the poor customer service have ruined its reputation. I must said that I have to give it a D- for the poor service and I am glad that I made the right choice of terminating it.

Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2010.

I been to quite a few exhibition,one of my favourite is the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2010 (KLIMS 2010).Even though I got work on the Awal Muharram Public Holiday, I tried to get my jobs done and leave before 1pm.

Traffic was slow but acceptable considering it's a holiday for everybody, all the way to PWTC. The only thing which I was worry is the insufficient parking spaces around it. I parked my car at the Mall Shopping Complex, which is consider one of the most exorbitant charges in the city. I made my way straight to the KLIMS 2010 after parked my car.The entrance was over-crowded. I need to queue for few minutes before I could get my hand on the tickets (RM20/ adult on weekends and Public Holidays; RM15/ adult on weekdays). After that, I need to queue again to get in the KLIMS 2010. Yes, I paid RM20 to QUEUE and GET SQUEEZED!!!

I have always wanted to visit Kuala Selangor, but I kept giving me the excuse of that I should visit the place later because its nearer to Kuala Lumpur. So, it's no big deal at all. Anyway, an excuse is always one should avoid.

When one talk about Kuala Selangor, he/she should refer to the Monkeys at the Bukit Melawati or maybe the fireflies at the Kampung Kuantan or maybe the Seafood restaurants nearby the river. This time I will be visiting the Bukit Melawati to pay our ancestors, the monkeys a visit. Once you've arrived, you will notice there is an parking lots beside the entrance.To my amuse, the parking is free. All you need to do is buy a train ticket which costs RM3 per person to ferry you to the top of the hill. Journey to the top, less than 5 minutes.You will eventually greeted by a packs of monkeys which consists two types; the non-aggressive yellow hair monkeys and the quite aggressive type grey hair monkeys.

I brought some bananas and peanuts for the monkeys and it was not a very good experience. Before I could hand out to them, I was mobbed and robbed by them! The grey hair monkeys surrounded me as they were saying,"Hand it over ,brother!". You wouldn't want the whole packs climbs all over you, right? So, the best move is to throw all the bananas on the road, and let them help themselves!

If you are a local, why not take some time on the coming weekend; and pay a visit to the Monkeys' Kingdom, as it's only took around 90 minutes to reach there.

A Jewel in a Hidden Place - 炒薯粉

So.. i was thinking what should I have for dinner? Rice or Noodle? Yes. I think I should have noodle for a change. But I prefer not to have the usual Hokkien Mee or Yin Yong Mee or Loh Mee....etc. I like to try something special. Something which you can't have it elsewhere..the famous Chow Shui Fan (炒薯粉) or Fried Potato Starch.

The restaurant,炒薯粉小食馆 is located near the Post Office at the 4miles of Old Klang Road.Ask the locals there if you couldn't find the place, it is famous and very popular for their fried potato starch. Beside than the 炒薯粉, there is another "jewel" maybe you haven't know yet, it's their Fried Pak Guo (炒白粿).The Lemon Chicken is a must order too! There is also lots of dishes I wish to try, but one at a time, as I promise I will be back ..very soon!

I have no regret for having my dinner here with my family members as the "jewel" here seem to be inexpensive.

Recently the government announced that tax breaks will be given to hybrid cars from 1st January till 31st December next year (2011). This is a break through for hybrid cars manufacturers. In this case, I believe Toyota Prius and Honda Civic Hybrid hold the advantage in point of sale. Toyota Prius have already announced their pricing, roughly about RM139k from the early Rm170k+.

I have stayed at Serdang area for 10 years already. This area is a Chinese majority place, one would find many Chinese foods delicacies there. Even though I have moved out from Serdang, I still go there quite often for the foods.

One of the good choices would be the Leong Ya Indah Restaurant's (纸包鸡) "Paper Wrapped Chicken". It is located opposite the KTM Serdang Komuter railway station. There is actually 3 restaurants under the name Leong Ya, but I always goes to the best place, the Leong Ya Indah operates by the daughter, 梁雅(女) which is beside the Heritage Luxury Condominium. I been visiting this place since the another 2 sprung up. I personally think that this shop fares better than the rest in term of flavor for its dishes.

It costed Rm2.80 only for a piece of the delicious 纸包鸡 and it good to be eaten alone or with rice (personally I would recommend it with rice). Beside than 纸包鸡, they also serves Yong Tau Foo and other delicacies. One of the dish which caught my eyes were the Yuen Hock Hai "Soft Shell Crab". Some people,吃家 would travel all the way to Ulu Yam just to eat and taste the famous Ulu Yam's Yuen Hock Hai. What the heck? Too far for me ah... So Leong Ya is my choice for a good mouth watering Yuen Hock Hai. It is good to be cook with Nestum's Oat. A very satisfy lunch indeed for me.

AhLoy Thai Cusine, Taman Segar, Cheras.

Today I felt like having Thai food for dinner. Without second thought, I decided to go to Taman Segar, Cheras for it. I have heard of a Thai cuisine restaurant; AHROY THAI CUISINE (beside HLBank) worth visiting for their famous Pandan Leaf Chicken.

Finding a parking lot was quite hectic outside the shop lots. You can actually see many double parked theirs cars beside the shop lots. If you don't mind forking out a few Ringgit for parking, you may also park your car at the Leisure Mall which is less hassle. Good thing I found a parking lot almost immediate near the restaurant and to my surprise, there is a empty table waiting for me to be seated. After I sat on my table, there is a few customers waiting outside for their tables. They seem to be a patience and don't mind waiting for it. It seem that luck is on my side tonight.

I've ordered 6 pieces Pandan Leaf Chickens, Fried Omelette with Char (Thai vege), Green Curry Chicken to go with the rices. I also ordered additional Pineapple Fried Rice, Ham & Sausage Fried Rice and Fried Udon Mee with Black Pepper to "kill the cat". As for dessert, I've ordered the famous Thai's Water Chestnut with Rubies, one of my favourite dessert. Overall the dinner was a satisfy one and I don't mind going there for dinner again in the coming weeks.

The Bakun Dam.

The Bakun Dam is located in Sarawak, Malaysia on the Balui River. It is said once completed, it is the tallest concrete-faced rock-fill dam in the world. This would also means that it is the largest dam in Asia, outside China.

The purpose of building the dam is to cater the high demand of electricity in the West Malaysia. It is expected to generate 2,400 mega watts of electricity once completed. The electricity will be transported by submarine cable under the sea to the Peninsular Malaysia. The additional cost is said to be RM8 to RM10 billions, on top of the RM7.3 billions of building it. It was first suggested in 1960s and only revived in 1993, by our PM, Tun Dr. Mahathir. Attempt to build it were resisted by three numerous attempt. The cost of building it was too high and it was protested by international environmentalists.

At last, the dam was completed. Should this solve our high demand of electricity in West Malaysia? Not if the Sarawak state government succeed in bidding it. It is know that the cost of building the dam is reported as RM7.3 billions. So, how come the Sarawak state government is offering lower than the cost of it, which is Rm6 billions only? Do they expect us to lose RM1.3 billions to them? If we did sold the dam to them, we need to build another 2 coal-power plants to cater our consumers demand in the West side. Is this necessary?

Business is still business. Nobody wants to see any reds in their account, after all the resistance of building it these years. Do they want to bear the problems of finding ways to full-fill the electricity demands once it was sold? It's a tricky question. Lastly I wish any decision made upon the Bakun Dam should able to benefit the whole rakyats, as the money of building it belong to them.

Tg. Tualang Famous Fresh Water Prawns.

When you think of local foods, which state of country would you be thinking of? Penang hawkers foods? Melaka Nyonya foods? For me, the state will be Perak, at least at the moment.

I found out quite late actually that Perak is filled with fresh water seafoods. One of the place that I wish to share is the place called Tg. Tualang, Perak. For your information, Tg. Tualang is famous for its fresh water prawns. The most famous restaurant there is the Luen Fong Resturant and Sun Mei Fang Restaurant. It has been visited by some local and overseas food critics. I would recommend you to order their signature dish, e.g. Steam Prawns with Egg Whites Oysters Omelet...etc.

Pantai Remis Otak-otak.

During Hari Raya recently, I went to Pantai Remis, Perak. Most people would asked, "Where is the hell is pantai remis?"

Pantai remis is located on the north part of Lumut or Pangkor Island. It is a small town where locals earn a decent living by catching fishes or doing small business. The foods and stuffs were cheap! I got my breakfast kwei teow for RM2.50 only! The locals told me they can save a lot if one were to earn RM1200 p.m. There is not much of night life at this place. Nothing much where you can spend with. If you must travel to a shopping complex, you need to travel around 2 hours just to get there (Ipoh town).

The foods were terrific, besides than cheap. I think the flavor of the foods is better than any KL's restaurants. One of the famous food at the pantai remis is their Thai version of Otak-otak. You can find big slices of fish inside the Otak-otak. The price? Only RM2.40 per piece. If you were to order more than 100 pieces among your friends, maybe you could bargain to RM2.10 per piece.
Give it a visit when you intend to go to Lumut next time, maybe you can share and tell your food discovery while visiting there.

City of Light - I-City, Shah Alam.

This year full moon festival is a bit dull, hardly seen any good lighting lantern on the street. Suddenly I thought of a place that was astonishing with good and superb lighting, the I-City at Shah Alam.

It was weekday night, exactly 9pm, I decided to go to I-City. It took me around 30 minutes to reach the place, from Federal Highway. The place was less crowded on weekdays. It is advisable to visit it during the weekdays. I have encountered massive jams and over-crowded visitors at the I-City on weekend. You couldn't see much or even glare at the beautiful bright trees, let not alone taking photos of it. During the weekend, the parking fees is RM5 per car. Where else on weekend, the parking fees shot up to RM10 per car. Oh yes, please don't throw your parking ticket out of frustration at the parking attendant. The parking ticket is valid for an entry either the cold lighting room or the mini safari park inside the I-City.

Overall the visit is very worth-visit and recommended. I'm glad I been there and hope to visit it again after the management added more attractions at the "City of Lights".

"Legend of the fist: return of Chen Zen" - Thumbs up!

Usually one would find it quite difficult to get a seat at the cinema for a hot and latest movie, such example would be "Legend of the fist: return of Chen Zen".

For me it's easy. All you have to do is avoid the crowds. How to do it? Watch it at 1pm or 3pm shows. You could easily get almost any seats you wants as the cinema would be half full only at the moment of time.

How would I rate this show? Ask any Donnie Yen's fans, the would give it the max stars! In another words, I love it! It was worth watching at the cinema, although it cost me RM12.50 person (online e-payment). Donnie Yen were superb! His kung fu skill is triple than his role at Yip Man. Why would I say that? Because in Yip man's role, he can only take up 10 Japanese at a go for a fight, but in Chen Zen's role, he actually beat the hell out of 30 Japanese guys! I also found that Anthony Wong's character is funny for making a comedy scene at the movie. Overall, my rating will be 8.5/10 for this movie. Hoping to see his another movie set to be launch in 2011. Keep the Kung Fu up, Donnie Yen!

Take on the "niece" first - Gasing Hill.

Normally on Saturday I would work till 5pm, today I left office a bit early and with a lot of rush. One of my friend, T.G. called me since afternoon, asking me to go hiking at the Gasing Hill. Well, I think needed some excise as I seldom do any. Most of my time is spend doing office work at the comfort of an air conditional room. I seldom walk, run or lift anything heavier than a mobile phone!

So it is time for a bit of hiking to get my engine roaring further. I worked till 4pm and reached home 15 minutes later. The sky is a bit groom. I hoped it doesn't rain cause it would be difficult to hike instead. My friend T.G. came to pick me up, and we went there straight away. There was lots of people hiking at that moment. I saw old folks and even children aged 5 or 6 hiking the Petaling Jaya most famous hill. It's kinda funny to see them hiking such slope with ease. I didn't see them sweat nor feel exhausted! As for me, I felt like I am in a very, very bad shape if I were to compare with them. I felt humiliated and small at that time. I even saw an old man running up to the hill, where else I had to crawl up. To make thing worst my good buddy T.G. left me alone in the dark hill. It was quite scary I must said. The sun couldn't reach much to the thick forest of the hill. T.G. tricked me to go with him to "conquer" the most difficult part of the hill. No wonder I couldn't see anybody at that trail.

It took us around 50 minutes to came out from the deep. I was very relieved and my legs were shaking abruptly! If you watched "Descent", then you know what I am talking about. I even lost my breath and voice at one time. Before this, one of my dream is able to conquer K.K. mountain, well I guess I need to conquer her "niece", Gasing Hill instead for now.

One Stone Two Birds: How to cut the fuel subsidies and yet, helping the poor?

The Government just increased the petrol prices for RON95 and RON97 by a mere 5 cents. Frankly I really don't mind paying an extra RM1 or RM2 each time I fill up my car, if the intention is good for all of us in long term.

I was wondering, if the Government really don't want to burden the poor with such increase and yet don't want to have a deficit budget on the subsidies, why not increase the RON97 each time they wanted to increase the RON95? Example for this case: RON95 increased RM1.85 from RM1.80, RON97 increased RM2.05 to RM2.10. Why not RON95 price remain the same (RM1.80), and RON97 increase to RM2.15? This means that whenever there is an increase for RON95, RON97 should absorb the price different in order to make the RON95 affordable to the poor.

I really don't care if RON97 increased to RM4/litre if RON95 price still remain the same!!! I believed many cars can accept RON95. So, it wouldn't effect much on an average earners. Only those who owed luxury cars can afford RON97, even the price is sky high. Don't you agree?

Is it possible to see Malaysia in the World Cup matches in 2022?

It has been an exciting moment this recent days watching the World Cup especially top guns like Brazil and Argentina bowed out during the quarter-finals matches (Netherlands 2:1 Brazil, Germany 4:0 Argentina). The matches is not only between those countries but also between the South Americas and Europeans. I guessed the European won.

I was hoping to see an Asian country in the quarter-finals' matches, Our only hope were dash when South Korea and Japan lost in Group 16. Speaking about Asian Football, why does our country, Malaysia which have been playing actively on home soil for so long with such a huge support and budget allocation from the Federal Government, has failed in its attempt to qualify for the World Cup matches? During the World Cup matches, I noticed that there's a lot of young players aged between 21 to 25, played very well and professionally. It is known that they were selected and trained by certain footballs' clubs at a small age of 8 years old! At a small age, the young players were taught well about football and most importantly the pride of winning for their country. They were taught by qualified coaches, range from World Cup ex-players.

Can our country, Malaysia able to get a qualified World Cup coach or ex-player with high reputation and good result orientated to select and train our young players (age of 6 to 8), so that we might able to watch and cheer for our very own team during the 2018 or 2022 Word Cup matches? If we are able to do so, this will definitely benefit our country and put us in the world map in a very fast pace! (Not many European or American knew about Malaysia though). Bring in Joachim Löw if we have to! I think there is more value in it than investing the F1 motor sport. Do you know that during the Germany World Cup 2006 matches, there is an estimates of 26 billions of total cumulative television audiences. This is how we can promote our country to others and make a rewarding deal out of it. Make us proud, not just for the country but for Asian as well.

Let's Revamp Our Education System.

It been more than 2 decades since I was in my secondary. During my school days, I notice that lots of students mostly from Chinese primary school failed in their SRP exam (Form 3). Many failed their English and Bahasa Malaysia. This caused them their future. They were drop outs since then.

I knew some of them. I think there is some potential lies within them. Some are very good in Maths, others in Arts. Maybe language is a concern for them but it should not be an excuse to drop them from schooling, since their age is only 16 at that point. What can a 16 years old teenagers do if they were to dropped from school? How can the society accept them? Which employers want to employ a 16 years old teenager with no working experiences, no qualifications, and knew nothing at all to work for them? Maybe this will force them to do things which can harm the society directly. It is possible that they may force to rob, steal, and do things illegally e.g. money laundering or even murder later. Only those who are mature enough and able to think straight can work hard enough to secure their future; either works as a food hawker, car mechanic or other skill works.

Recently there is lots of debates concerning about scrapping the UPSR (Standard 6) and PMR (Form3) exams. I think the problems lies on the education syllabus not on the exams. Exams is no doubt is good for check and balance for the students. They can compete among themselves which is a healthy thing, but there shouldn't be any pressure apply on them. Throughout my years in the market, I knew that book worms doesn't means that they were good and steady in their employment. They may have the IQ (Intelligent Quotient), but not using much of their EQ (Emotional Quotient).

Having good results in exams in great but having know what you want to be when you grow up, and have great interest in that field would be more result driven. Some students like History, others may not. Some like Maths, some like Science. Different characters suit different positions. Please revamp our education system, let them explode their gifted interest and make the best of of them in future. If they like Arts, motivate and train them to be a great artist or even advertisement art and design. If they like music, train them to be a singer or a musician or things related to music. You don't have to be a lawyer or doctor to be successful in your life. You only have to make the best of your interest and apply in your work. Work to live not live to work. Appreciate and enjoy your work, and you will be successful in life.

p.s. I really hope to Government can revamp the whole education system, especially the Chinese schools. Most of them cannot speak, listen or even understand simple Bahasa Malaysia and English language at all. That's why most of them failed their exams. I simply cannot understand why do they have to learn three different language for the same subject? E.g. They learned Science (English), Sains (B.M) and 科学 (Chinese) in the primary school.

If we have a choice, we would rather sent our kids to the English medium school. Maybe that's the only way we can unite all the races together. (Most Chinese parents prefer to sent their children to Chinese medium school cause they think that the Government school is not on par.)

The weather is not so encouraging recently. Not much raining. Many people getting sick. Most common is cough and fever. Whom will benefit from this situation? Your personal doctor, of course!

Recently my nephews also having high fever and bad cough. One must be quite concern if they are showing those symptoms. They are afraid of the second wave of H1N1. So most parents wouldn't mind paying their doctors high medical consultation fees, just to check whether their sons or daughters are free from the deadly virus.

So, my sister went to her personal doctor in Puchong for consultation. She need to wait around one hour due to large volume of patients waiting for the doctor. When her turn came, the doctor would make a fundamental checking and some briefing. By then you can actually off to the counter to take your medicines and pay your bill, of course. Normally private clinics will issue the "normal" type of medicine for the patients. What do you meant by "normal"? Well, it means that they buy a large quantity of medicines and fill it up into their respective clinic's bottle. My nephew's medication's bill came out to be RM80! I can tell you that I have personally brought the same medicine for RM5 per large bottle in some pharmacy.

By the way, do you know that the Government is offering only Rm1 per person for the same medication fees, and their medicine is the best in term of quality, I would say. So, since the economy is not doing very well, and the Government is encouraging us to tighten our belts, why not try to be a bit patience and wait for your doctors at the nearby Government's clinics?

Papa John's Pizza, IOI Mall, Puchong.

I may not an ABC (American Born Chinese), but I sure have the craft for junk foods. I loves burgers, pizzas and hot dogs. There is lots of varieties and brands to choose from. Example for pizza, one would choose from Pizza hut, Shakey's or even Domino's. As for burgers, you can have McDonald's, A&W, Burger Kings, White Castle's or even Carl's Jr. I have tried all of those.

Today I intend to try something new, Papa John's Pizza at IOI Mall, Puchong. They are giving a 50% discount for Super Papa Pizza either large or regular in conjunction for the Father's day celebration. You can either choose beef or chicken for the flavour. In my personal opinion, I think Papa John's Pizza is more delicious as there is more flavour in it. The ingredients is much more fresher than other. I like their natural tomatoes and the garlic butter sauce. You can actually taste the different between some Pizza's company which use factory manufactured tomatoes sauce and theirs.

It is known that they used only 100% Mozzarella cheese and imported Spanish Black Olives, zesty Onions and Green Peppers, fresh Mushrooms and Tomatoes for their pizza.

The Biggest and Longest Pasar Malam-Taman Connaught's Pasar Malam.

Normally even after dinner, I would get my hands on some tit bits to satisfy my "additional tummy". I would stack up tit bits at the local hypermarkets. Yet, I would prefer to buy my night snacks at the pasar malams.

Yesterday was no different. I had my dinner at home around 8pm and within 30 minutes later, I saw myself to the biggest and longest pasar malam in Malaysia, I believed; the Taman Conaught's Pasar Malam. Parking was extreme difficult. I found myself squeeze into a small lane and parked behind the shop lots near HSBC as I hate distant walking. Oh boy, i sure can find a lot of snacks which is hard to resist. There is lots of variety to choose from e.g. Japanese Tako, Taiwan Pizza, China Burgers, Hong Kong Smelly Taufu... you just name it! The crowds were huge, one can get lost while walking along the street. Parents need to be carefull with their childrens.

I heard food stalls were open till 12am, while the stalls selling cloths were to closed at 2am! Many of these stalls were never seen in other pasar malams. Maybe that's what make this Taman Connaught Pasar Malam so special. I tried the Tako, it tastes better than the one sold at famous klang valley shopping complex. There are 3 stalls selling Tako, the best one is the one near the CIMB bank.

Just to inform anybody who intend to got to The Mall to apply or renew their SSM licence , the SSM have moved from the corner retail in the 4th floor to the Mall's 16th floor office lots recently.

The place is quite small compare with the previous one. One might have to stand while waiting for his/her turn to be serve. Just in case you don't know, you don't have to close your company account if your licence is over due. It will closed automatically. So please don't waste your time and money by going there just to terminate your company licence.

"Mat Rempit will have a chance to win RM10,000 monthly if they take part in a slow-speed 2km motorcycle race, said Pahang Mentri Besar, a way to educate them about road safety. The race would be held monthly or once every two months."

I really felt disgusted with such a proposal from the state government. Are they trying to promote slow racing now instead? To me race is still a race, no matter how slow or fast the racers is going. Reward them is not the answer to stop them from speeding later. It is more wise to spend the money for the state's welfare instead. Many old folks' home and orphans need the monthly RM10k more the Mat Rempits.

Recently there is lot of people celebrating their birthdays. Well, when you talk about birthdays, there is always a cake.

Yesterday I saw myself going to one of the King's Confectionery to buy myself a cake. Is it for my birthday? Nope. I buying it cause they are offering a 40% discount for one. Where can you enjoy your Steaks with a great dining atmosphere at Kuala Lumpur? Well, no doubts it should be the "Look-out point" at the Ulu Langat.

I decided to go to the Look-out point for my dinner on Saturday, 23rd May 2010. I have never been there before even though I got lots of recommendation from my friends. I left my house around 8.15pm, hoping to get there by 9pm and a table. I used the MRR2 highway and it was quite fast really even though it's a bit congested. Reached there at exactly 9pm. Parked my car at the car park below, with an entrance fee of RM2. Then I walked along the stairs, all the way to the top. It's was very tiring as I don't get any excise that's I needed that frequent. The first restaurant I saw was the "Gasoline Cafe". I couldn't walk further and picked a table opposite the breath-taking view. The scene was superb. I can see clearly the KL city with lots of bright lights on. The air was refreshing, until there are some punks smoking besides me.

I ordered a few steaks and some drinks. It was quite fast for the meals to come out, considering the amount of patrons. After tasting the foods, I must say that it is a "let down". I was hoping for a decent meal with a fantastic view but only to my dismay, the foods was far below average. The cheese baked chicken chop was small and tasteless, the cordon bleu was as hard as a rock. The skin is thick and tough. I would say that the best cordon bleu I had should be at the Balakong's Western Restaurant. The Singapore fried MeeHun is kinda wet and tasteless. Maybe I should have tried the "Haven Restaurant" instead. Maybe next time.

K850 LCD and Keyboard.

I have always not fond of touch screen phones. I believed conventional phones are much more reliable compare to high tech gadgets phones.

Today I've tried to repair a SonyEricsson K850 phone, the touch screen is not working. Normally all you have to do is change the keyboard and the problem solved but this one is "behaving abnormally". I have tried the keyboard, LCD and upgrading the software, the problem still remain.

What's so important about the touch screen button since SE K850 only consists 3 buttons for touch screen features? Well basically you cannot enter "Menu", "Media" and "Contacts". So what is the use of the phone when you cannot enter the menu or check your contacts, worse still if your keypad is locked, you need to press the touch screen to open it.

Sometimes I got confused, do I like SE K850? I think I don't like it cause the touch screen is causing so much problem and nuisance for users but in another way I like it cause it brought a lots K850 customers to me for repair.

GPS A couple of weeks ago a friend told me that someone she knew had their car broken into while they were at a football game. Their car was parked on the green which was adjacent to the football stadium and specially allotted to football fans.

Things stolen from the car included a garage door remote control, some money and a GPS which had been prominently mounted on the dashboard. When the victims got home, they found that their house had been ransacked and just about everything worth anything had been stolen. The thieves had used the GPS to guide them to the house. They then used the garage remote control to open the garage door and gain entry to the house. The thieves knew the owners were at the football game, they knew what time the game was scheduled to finish and so they knew how much time they had to clean out the house. It would appear that they had brought a truck to empty the house of its contents.

Something to consider if you have a GPS - don ' t put your homeaddress in it. Put a nearby address (like a store or gas station) so youcan still find your way home if you need to, but no one else would knowwhere you live if your GPS were stolen.

MOBILE PHONES I never thought of this.......This lady has now changed her habit of how she lists her names on her mobile phone after her handbag was stolen. Her handbag, which contained her cell phone, credit card, wallet... Etc...was stolen. 20 minutes later when she called her hubby, from a pay phone telling him what had happened, hubby says ' I received your text asking about our Pin number and I ' ve replied a little while ago. '

When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all the money was already withdrawn. The thief had actually used the stolen cell phone to text ' hubby ' in the contact list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn all the money from their bank account. Moral of the lesson: Do not disclose the relationship between you and the people in your contact list. Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, Sweetheart, Dad, Mom, etc....And very importantly, when sensitive info is being asked through texts, CONFIRM by calling back.

Also, when you ' re being text by friends or family to meet them somewhere, be sure to call back to confirm that the message came from them. If you don ' t reach them, be very careful about going places to meet ' family and friends ' who text you. *PLEASE PASS THIS ON * I never thought about the above! As of now, I no longer have 'home ' listed on my cell phone.

I still remember the day when I took my first air flight. It was a company paid flight to Singapore, where I go for training for a week at the Lion City. Back then, taking air flight for travel is expensive for an average paid person. A 45 minutes flight could easily cost you around RM400 to 500 for return fares on Malaysian Airline System (MAS). Most people would prefer to travel by road instead. If you are going to China or Australia, then you don't really have a choice. You must travel by air. Puchong Yong Tau Foo.

Like every Sunday, I felt kinda bore and lazy searching foods for breakfast. Suddenly I remember one of my friend, Zack Teo told me how good about a stall selling Yong Tau Foo in Puchong. Without any hesitate, I went there straight away. It took me roughly 20 minutes without traffic jams to reach there from OUG,KL.

Direction: Use Kesas Highway to Puchong Exit. Turn right till you passed by IOI Mall & Tesco. After passed Bandar Puteri on your left. Keep to the left lane. Pick the Putrajaya Highway on your left. Go straight till you see the first interchange leading to Puchong Perdana. Avoid it and go straight. Not far away, you will see the 2nd interchange, take it and make a left turn. Go straight till you see a traffic light, turn right. You will notice a Chinese School on your left side, the "marked X spot" is on the opposite of the school. Easy, right?

It was very easy to find the place as it was crowded with people all the times. Good thing that I got seats immediately, as I hate waiting for tables. Felt like begging for foods instead. While I was thinking what to order, a guy came took my order for drinks only. I was told to "pick what ever I like at the counter". They will take the food order from there. Ordered a round 20 pieces of Yong Tau Foos, Paper wrapped Chickens and some pan mee. The Yong Tau Foo is priced at RM1.10 per piece. But I don't think it's expensive considering the amount of fish paste on it. In fact I felt the paste were much fresher than the one I frequent visit in Taman Yulek's. The Pan Mee is average and expensive; costing RM4 per bowl. It is advisable to eat rice instead with the Yong Tau Foo. I like the fish ball very much; very fresh and springy. Will visit it again in a distant future.

Local Island for the Rich People Only?

It has been quite some time since I last go for holiday. There are lots of places I wish I could visit, yet time and money is a factor. One of my favorite spot is Bangkok, but since there is some disturbing (Red Shirt Vs Uniforms) there, I would try to avoid visit it for the moment.

Yet local travel is not bad either. I have been to Redang Island few years back then. It was one of the top ten islands in the world. I have never regretted having my holiday there, and wish I could drop by some time in the near future and said the famous Schwarzenegger’s quote, “I’ll be back….again and again!!”

But then again, my hope will be just a hope if the state government decided to make it a luxury island, which is meant for the riches only. They decided to demolish all the budget hotels and make ways for luxury hotels mainly 5 stars above. It is said that the hotels will cost around Rm1600 per night!!! Count me out if they are charging such exorbitant rates. I would rather travel overseas. That’s the main problem! It seems to me that the Government is indirectly encouraging us to travel aboard for holidays. An overseas trip will likely to be lesser than the one night rate at the hotel.

I really don’t know what the government is thinking but our country is famous for its beautiful islands. Why can’t we, as a Malaysian, enjoy it with a affordable price? It just not fair!

Recently I notice a lot of people are very concern about their home security. It is very obvious that most of the new resident development were gated community; guarded in the main entrance, equipped with the latest CCTV monitoring and alarm systems, and some even extended to hire some security guard themselves.

While old housing residents doesn’t consists gated community, therefore the risk of burglaries, snatches, robberies and break-in is unavoidable. Many have adopted and hire security companies to have guards making rounds in their areas, which come will monthly fees. Some places in Puchong, residents were charged Rm100 for 3 months, while others were charged Rm110 per month in OUG. Frankly, I didn’t pay for the security fees as I think as a tax payer, my safety is the main concern of the police forces. Instead of hiring people to patrolling our house, why not ask the police to do so? Are we directly encouraging people to engage companies to look after their families’ safety? Can the private security be trusted and prevent any unwanted crimes in their housing area? We wouldn’t know. I heard before that a security guard once told me that they will not take any action if there is a crime or break-in happen upon yourselves if you didn’t engage their service! What would a righteous man do if he saw a crime? He would either help you in some way or call for the police. I didn’t see that attitude in the guard concern, so how can I trust him for my family’s safety? Besides, all they have to protect themselves is just a wooden stick. I doubt it that they would be fighting crimes with a stick! If I were a guard making Rm1000.00 per month, armed with a wooden stick, would I risk myself if I see a crime where the criminals is armed with parangs or guns? Hell no!!!

In the old days, people were more united. They would team up in the Rukun Tetangga to fight crime themselves, with the help of police. We don’t see that anymore. Once again, I hope to stress that crime-fighting should be the responsible of the residents and mainly the police; not the outsiders whom taking advantage of the situation by asking an exorbitant monthly fees as a “protection money”.

One day I decided to buy something at the shop outside my house in the morning. The shops were a few walks only from my home. While I was walking, there is a motorbike with two guys riding pass me. They were staring at me. I take no notice of it. Suddenly the motorbike riders decided to make a U turn heading towards my direction. I got kind of scare. In swift seconds, they snatched a woman’s bag in front of my eyes. The woman was screaming for help but nobody dares to approach and comprehend them. I was so shocked that I ran for my lives; heading back home. I couldn’t do anything for the woman nor was I if that was happened to me. It’s was 25 years ago…..

Snatch thieves became more and more daring. It happened all the times, almost everywhere. How do we intend to prevent this from becoming more and more worst? The answer lies on the Government’s and parents’ social responsibilities. None of this would happen if we as a parent took care of our children’s problem. We should be asking what does the future lies for our children. What plans do we have stored for them? How can we make them a better person and contribute back to the society? Do we care enough for them? Why do they have to choose the “dead end roads” instead? This is not their fault! It is our responsibilities to make sure every child that we brought up are loved, cared and guided with wisdoms.

Please don’t give birth just for the joy of doing it, give them a light to the right path.

CNY at Malacca.

On the 3^rd Chinese New Year (CNY), I decided to go to Malacca as it was quite boring stay back at the city. The city was “silent” during CNY.

I left my home around 2pm, hopefully to reach Malacca within one and half hours later on. I was praying that no massive jams will occur throughout the journey. I hate jams! Most of the time when there is a festival season, people tend to travel outstation to break free from the hectic life at the city. The jams were terrible! It started on the beginning of the journey, at the toll’s collection booths. Lucky the Smart-tag lane were jam-less. Sometimes I wonder why do people don’t like to buy Smart-tag since it’s more convenient to do so? It saves time and money!

When I reached the Smart-tag lane, I got my tag scanned. The amount shown was RM16.50. I was a bit nervous as the exit at the Ayer Keroh was around Rm16++ also. I really don’t understand why the Touch & Go Company must close the reloading counters during the CNY. It was a bad decision. Feeling a bit worry, as I don’t like to get in a situation where my car got stuck in the lane just because I don’t have enough money to pay for the journey; I called my sister-law. I was told that I could reload the Touch & GO at the Petronas’s counter at the rest area for Seremban with a service charge of 50 cents. I wouldn’t mind paying an extra 50 cents just to get my worry over. It’s was worth it.

The journey to Malacca was quite smooth. There is an accident involving a MyVi car at the Nilai area but it was a short jam, with lasted for 1 km only. Unlike the opposite direction (heading toward KL), the jam was unbearable; started from Nilai till Rembau. I reached Ayer Keroh roughly one hour and 15 minutes. That’s the end of smooth sailing. The Ayer Keroh Highway was jamming terribly. There was simply too much cars, mainly from Johor, KL and Singapore, and the traffic lights were just a bit too much. During my visit at Malacca, I visited the Ban Li Xiang Satay Cetup Restaurant as the famous one Capital was crowded will people lining up just to get a taste of their satay celup. At the evening, I went to the Jonker’s Street. The atmosphere there was superb! You will get to feel the real mood of CNY while walking along it. There are lots of lanterns. People were playing fire crackers. I felt that celebrating CNY at outstation or Kampongs will be more enjoyable than celebrating it in a city. What do you think?

Lastly, my mid-night journey back home costs me Rm13.50 only as travelling after midnight entitled for a 20% discount on PLUS highway.

2010- The Year Of a Tiger.

In a blink of an eye, time passed swiftly. Yesterday is the first day of the Chinese lunar calendar. Most people will celebrate the Chinese New Year (CNY) with their families and close relatives on the first day.

During the eve of CNY, I visit Mid valley Megamall before my reunion dinner started. There were lots of shoppers around. I was surprise. I thought most people would travel outstation around this time of the year; either visiting their families back home at outstation or taking the advantage of long holiday to travel locally or overseas. I notice there were a lot of people having their reunion dinner outside, either at a restaurant or a hotel. The reason I believed is that many city girls do not know how to cook a big feast like the reunion dinner for their love ones. I must admit even my two sisters don’t know how to cook actually. Maybe they can cook a bit like Maggi Mee or Telur Goreng only. In the near future, the traditional of having reunion dinner at home will be lost forever.

I really missed the old traditional way of celebrating the CNY. In the old days, on the eve of CNY, all of us will be very busy. My sisters will be doing our house chores. Me and my brother will be decorating the house with CNY banners or lighting. Mom will be busy cooking a lavish reunion dinner for us. Normally the dishes comprises fish, prawn, mushrooms, abalone, chicken or duck, crabs and much more. We would dig up all the foods and stuffed it in our stomach! There are always lots of TV programs to watch on the eve, first day and the second day of CNY. There is even more now with ASTRO. We would play fire crackers till mid-night. This is one of the good things of celebrating CNY, but it’s already been banned. So, celebrating CNY on the eve is sometimes like celebrating Christmas on the eve; because we are singing “Silent Night” on the eves. We will make our prayers to the God of Prosperity by welcoming him to our house on the eve of CNY. It’s believed that once you are succeed in welcoming the God of Prosperity, your family will “ONG” or lucky and prosper in that particular year. We will burn “12 foot long red fire crackers” to welcome the God of Prosperity and to scare off all the “bad luck” happened the year before. We will toss beers, “yee sang”, play fire crackers, having big feasts and gambler all the way till the end of 15^th day of lunar CNY. And that's only just a few of good things of celebrating CNY.

I like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a happy, healthy and prospers in this Tiger year. GONG XI FA CAI……………..

There is some questions held in mind for quite some time and I still couldn’t find the answers yet to it. There is no doubt that we’re been “watched” by aliens throughout the world all the while (supported by NASA’s statement), what’s the motive? Why are we been observed? Is there an experiment been conducted by these “outsiders”? Are they planning to take over the Earth in the future? UFO’s sighting is no longer a secret, it’s a phenomenon. The sightings are much is frequent these recent years. What have the US Government planning to do about it? Are they planning to keep it a secret too like in the oldies when they denied the UFO existence? I think we ought to know much more about them as Earth is our home, and when our home is invaded by intruders, we have the rights to know what’s happening or going to happen in the future. Kor Tung Festival - Tong Yuen Dessert.

I’ve just finish work and on my way going home. While I was driving, I notice the traffics were a bit low. Most shops were closed. It felt like a Chinese New Year (CNY) eve day. But this isn’t the CNY, it more important than the CNY if you ask anyone who celebrate “Kor Tung”.

Kor Tung is celebrated with a reunion dinner by family members, around 2 months before the coming CNY. Normally those who celebrate Kor Tung will have “Tong Yuen” (a Chinese’s Dessert) after the dinner. Tong Yuen is made of rice flour and is filled with peanuts, red beans, and sesame seeds. But the original Tong Yuen’s filling is the sugar type. I prefer the peanuts ones as I could taste the aroma of the peanuts and the sweetness of the Tong Yuen.

Try having a bowl or two of Tong Yuen tonight with your loves one, on the occasion of celebrating one of the most important Chinese’s festival of the year.

Portugese Grill, Oasis Foods Court Mid Valley.

Like most peoples, I tend to go for a year-end shopping and search for great bargains at weekdays. I don’t really enjoy shopping on weekends because of the massive turn-out by shoppers. You need to queue to pay your stuffs. You need to queue again to take your lunch or dinner while you’re there. It’s really hassle doing your shopping on weekends, especially during Christmas.

Here I am in the Mid Valley Shopping Mall again. I prefer Mid Valley because it has lots of dining places and one-stop retails to do your shopping. It’s located in the middle of Klang Valley and the parking is cheap compared to others (3 hours= RM1; weekdays). This time I choose to have my dinner at the Oasis Food Court at the 2nd Floors. It’s not really difficult to choose what to order while you were there. The only stall which is crowded with lots of customers is the Portuguese Grills Seafood. It is norm for the best foods to be crowded. If you intend to have some great foods, please be patience while waiting it to be serving.

I have order an ikan pari (stingray) with rice for my dinner. I told the staff my order and she took it down. I was a bit worry as there is lots of customers waiting, I wonder if she can really recognizes me or even remember what have I ordered. I don’t want to be disappointed for waiting so long and not having it. While I was waiting my turn, I noticed that the staff has a very good memory. She can actually remember all the customers’ orders and serve it without “kelam-kabut” (chaos). After 10 minutes waits, I finally got my ikan pari. I paid RM6.90 for it. Even though the portion was a bit small, I really felt satisfied with the dinner. It was really appetizing. It’s worth the wait and I bet I would try something else in my next visit to the PORTUGESE GRILL, OASIS FOOD COURT.

Dream of Getting Rich.

I don’t usually dream while sleeping. If I ever dream something, it would be something special.

Recently I dreamed that my car’s rear window been smashed at late night while I’m sleeping. The dream was so real that I found myself almost rushing to the car pouch to have a look at the car. Is this an indication of something might happen to my car this few days? I didn’t know.

So the next morning I got myself to buy some 4 digit numbers to try my luck. I brought 7772 and 2777 (because of my rear window been smashed, so it might want me to buy it in a reverse manner). Within a few hours later, the result came out. What did you know? One of the special numbers came out 2777!!! I guessed that I was lucky.

One really don’t have to gamble all yours saving just for trying to get rich in the easy way. You have to work hard for it or justhope that the “god of prosperity” came to visit you at night.

Thumbs up for Serdang Hospital.

Most of my friends gave birth to their sons and daughters at the private hospitals. The reason of their decision is because in private hospital, they were offered better and fast services; compare with the government’s hospitals which are usually crowded most of the time. The others reasons given were the nurses were rude, the facilities were old, and most of all, it is quite hassle waiting to be serve.

The only disadvantage of the private hospital is that it is not really affordable to many people. In fact, it’s expensive to give birth to a child at a private hospital. Prices can be range around RM3000 to RM7000 per birth (normal birth/ operation). No wonder there’s lots of private clinics and hospitals invested in this field. They should be rich in a short span.

Recently, I discovered a hospital, Serdang Hospital which can offer a good service, good facilities, well organized, and most importantly affordable. My daughter was just born in that hospital. Can you take a wild guess how much do I need to foot my bill for discharge? Less than RM50!!! To be more precise, RM37 for 2 days stays, included 3 meals per day!!! With that kind of money, what can you ask for? I have no complaint or whatsoever, other than compliment to doctors, nurses and security officers for been professional in their job. I guessed that’s the reason we paid taxes and I’ve finally got my worth!

Should we make it a "FINE" pasar malam?

It was 10.30pm. I decided to have a walk at the OUG night market (pasar malam). Most stalls were either closed or closing. Business were good to them as the sky were bright, not a single cloud in the sky. While I was there I succeeded buying some supper for the night.

One thing that caught my attention while I was shopping for foods, were the rubbishes dumped along the roads. All peoples; either the stall owners or the customers doesn’t really care about the wastes dumped on the roads, thinking that the DBKL will sweeps the road after the night market was over. A lots of pests such as rats took the advantage of the leftovers, and was seen roaming around. I wonder how the peoples can stand such an environment. Imagine how the disease were spread after each night. Just think of the dirty culture and habits that we are heading towards. We are actually encourages peoples to throw their rubbish or wastes on the roads on the night markets. Even through the DBKL sweeps the roads after the business hours, that doesn’t means we can throw the rubbish just like that on the road. We are creating a very bad habit here. How can we set a good example for our young ones and ask them not to throw rubbish everywhere and maintain cleanness always when it’s already a habit to throw rubbish in the night markets just like that; without thinking the consequences.

The local government should make stall owners to place a waste bin next to their stall if they are dealing with foods. I wonder how many of us don’t have even one pirated video compact disc in their house. Pirated video compact discs were sold everywhere. Let it be pasar malam (night market), shopping complex, retail shops, hawker’s centers, etc. What have the authorities done so far to stop it? Is their enforcement effective from preventing those people from distributing the discs? Why does the government has to penalties the consumers instead when the main cause of this pirated things came from the badly enforcement of the authorities itself?

Sometimes consumers don’t even know what is wrong or right when it comes to buying such pirated disc. There is no enforcement. There is no education prevent peoples from buying it. How will it affect the social and economy if you brought such pirated discs? Nobody seems to care about it. The problems have been dragging for some times. Any person who is strolling in the pasar malam doesn’t know it is an offence to buy pirated DVDs, CDs or even MP3s. It became our lifestyles to buy pirated discs at pasar malam where prices were a bargain. By taking the peoples to the court for owning such pirated discs; doesn’t really solve the problem. The core of the problem is the illegal manufacturers, distributors, resellers, retailers whom helped to contribute the sales of the pirated discs. They are the one who’s making the big bucks from the pirated business. As for the legal resellers, how much are they willing to take to reduces or by any means stop the sales of pirated disc? Are they willing to look further ahead and drop their prices by targeting on sales volumes?

Please don’t simply penalize peoples without analyses the source of the problem.

Former premier Dr Mahatahir Mohamad unleashes a tidal wave of sarcasm over the issue of selling water to Singapore, and in the process drowns his successor Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.In his latest blog posting, Mahathir pointed out that the first agreement with Singapore to sell 350 million gallons of raw water at 3 sen per thousand gallons would end in 2011."What would we do then? I suspect despite Singapore's famous Newater, it would still need the 350 million gallons daily."The other treaty would end by 2060 in which the price is also 3 sen per thousand gallons," he said.
"But without the 350 million gallons daily according to the first treaty, Singapore's rapidly increasing population of new immigrants would not have enough water," he added.So, Mahathir said, the amount supplied according to the first treaty would be even more crucial despite Newater and desalination.He added that Pahang would soon be selling water to Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
"I don't think Pahang would be happy to receive 3 sen per thousand gallons.
"Malacca has been paying Johor 30 sen per thousand gallons and is still doing so and would continue to do so I suppose. Would Johor be asking for more than 30 sen in the future? I always have been an avid F1 fan since my childhood. I love the trills and excitement of the race. But the recent years have been a dull and bore race for me to watch.

Recently Toyota makes a decision to withdraw from the F1 race with immediate effect. The reason of the withdrawal is because of budget constraint that they are facing at the moment. Toyota has forecast a loss of US$8.3 billions on his revenues and it cannot finances anymore F1 races which costs around US$300 million per annum. Besides Toyota, we have seen Honda’s exits from F1 last year, Subaru and Suzuki’s exits from world rallying championship, Kawasaki’s exits from MotoGP recently and Bridgestone would not renew their supply contract with F1 after 2010.

The only manufacturers left in F1 now is Ferrari (Fiat), Mercedes and Renault. So now you know how I felt watching F1? Maybe we can get back some excitement back when our 1Malaysia F1 team joins in. The funny things are some of the world’s largest carmakers also cannot take the heat from the F1’s budget, so what makes our 1Malaysia F1 team can stand it? Is it because of “Malaysia Boleh”?

The sky is cloudy. Lightning strikes intermittently. Looks like raining in the late afternoon today. But that will not stop illegal DVDs sellers from doing their business at the OUG pasar malam (night market) tonight.

I really understand how difficult it’s to make a living nowadays, and I don’t blame them for selling illegal DVDs because people have the right to choose things which is cheaper and valued for their money. As for them, they are only earning for a decent living. If the DVDs companies were to sell their products at an affordable price e.g. RM10.00 to RM13.00 per original DVD, I believed everybody will stop buying illegal DVDs.

The only thing which I cannot stand about illegal DVDs’ stalls is that they are selling porn DVDs as well, and they don’t feel shame about it. They tend to place all the porn DVDs in front of their stalls. Many children were passing by. Many watched it. Do we want our future generation, our children to expose to all this porn things at a very early age, thus creating social problems later on? These matters have been addressed again and again, but what have been done so far by the authorities e.g. Local Council and Police? Nothing! Maybe the Anti Corruption Agency should look into this case.

I really don’t believe that the issues of illegal DVDs sellers at the pasar malam cannot be rectified. The concern bodies only needs to place 3 persons at each pasar malam to check on those activities. Is that too difficult for them to handle? I think not! I am suggesting that the police should place a stall at every pasar malam in the city to curb such illegal activities. You never know, the police’s might be the busiest stall at the pasar malam!

I sure many movie-goers heard of the movie 2012. The story is most likely about the end of the world, an Armageddon. Just imagine that it is the end of everything, and we have another 3 years more to go….. What would you want to do? Who do you want to be with? How would you spend your existing 3 years?

I am not talking about the 2012 movie right now, I’m talking about 2015! The NAP (National Automotive Policy) will be revamp after 2015; with the termination of APs (Approved Permits). Imagine this, the end of the world will start in 3 years (if you use your imagination on this 2012 movie), and the NAP starts in 6 years! Come on! Why doesn’t the new NAP policy start next year or maybe at least before 2012? Why 2015? Who will benefit from such a long period of implement when shorter period will benefit the peoples most?

Why do we need to enrich some while most suffered? This 6 years will marked the period of “takes as much as you can” for the cronies. I really appreciated when the Government intend to scraped old vehicles, and make it mandatory roadworthiness inspections for vehicles aged 15 years or older before road tax renewal because I felt there are a lot of junks on the road nowadays.

But What I do really much appreciate is the Government lowers the price tags for all the cars in our country. I sure many would not ride cars more than it should, cause it is not economical to do so. Old cars breakdown more often, and it will cost a fortune to get them repaired. If the new cars prices are affordable and right, we don’t have much complaining about it. The Government cannot control the fuel prices, but they sure can control the cars’ price tags. Affordable cars mean no more 7 or 9 years of repayment. We don’t want our hard earned money invested in a non-productive product like cars; where the prices of cars kept dropping year by year. When we settled our repayment to the banks earlier, we could easily afford higher utilities bills or even fuel prices to off-set the higher car installments.

The Government is urging all private sector to use the Bahasa Malaysia language to communicate as they think the usage of national language is quite low. They want it spoken at the banking industry, the legal fields, commerce centres...etc.

All this while, most of the Government Department, e.g. Police Department, Fire Department, JPN, JKR, Hospitals, Custom Department, Ministries....etc, all spoken Bahasa Malaysia language. Civil servants seldom speaks English. Therefore their English command is not so good. I felt quite frustrated to see some civil servants cannot even communicate with foreigners using English. Whereas on the other side, most private companies prefer to communicate with the English language. Personally, I think when we communicate with our customers or clients in English, the standard of communication is higher. People will respect you for this. Maybe even the "Mat Salleh" will think that this Malaysian can speak better English than him!

Do we want to see our next generation in the public and private sector can only communicate in Bahasa Malaysia language only or together with English language with the equal standard?

We should promote more people to speak Bahasa Malaysia language including foreigners but we shouldn't restrict other language flowing in the market, especially the English language as it is an International language. Speaking more English doesn't means that I am less Malaysian. Most importantly is that I knew how to read, listen, write and communicate in Bahasa Malaysia as it is indeed our national language.

Free Flight For Life!

I was reading my usual news, when my eyes caught something that I thought was hilarious. The headline was stated, "Lifetime free flights for baby born on plane".

It is known that a baby was born on board an AirAsia flight this week. A 31 years old woman went into labour on a flight from Penang to Kuching. The aircraft have to made an emergency diversion at Kuala Lumpur because of the incident and caused hassles to many passengers on board; not to mention time and money losses. I thought the rules stated that all pregnant woman weren't suppose to board any plane as it is dangerous to travel airborne. I guessed that they didn't notice that's she is pregnant and mistaken her for some fat woman!

AirAsia paid the baby and mother a visit at the hospital and said, " To celebrate this momentous occasion, we decided to present both mother and child with free flights for life!"

p.s. Maybe I will take my pregnant wife for flight in the future, we will never know... we could be the next persons to enjoy the free flights!

Service Tax For Credit Cards?

Our Prime Minister just announced the Budget 2010 and I don't feel excited about it.

One of the budget is that for every credit card that you owed, the Government will be charging a service tax of RM50 for principal credit card and RM25 for the supplementary credit card! The first thing that I do after hearing the news is to check how many credit cards do I have in my wallet. I have got 6 principal credit cards and 1 supplementary credit card to service the tax. That would be RM325 p.a.for me!

I thought the credit cards supposed to be essential thing to own in this age. From paying utilities, fuel, grocery to car repairing or even paying my insurance; all is done by credit cards. Different credit cards suits different payments. My Citibank's were meant to pay for my utilities. My Hong Leong's is meant to pay for my insurances and Touch And Go card. That's why the bankers issued different cards for different lifestyle. Example: Citibank Shell Credit Card enable you for a rebate when you are fill up your fuel. Hong Leong MTV Credit Cards enable you enjoy certain discount in foods and beverages. Some credit cards even gave you certain discounts on groceries at hypermarkets.

It seem that the Government doesn't encourage us to over-spend using our credit cards. Wise move? I don't think so. I think when the economy is not doing very well, peoples tend to use their credit cards to meet days' end. But if they were discourage from use the credit cards, this would means something else. This will encourages some people to borrow money from illegal financial company, e.g. Ah Long.

Recently the Government forced bankers to drop their interest rates from 18% p.a. to 12% p.a. Now they imposed the service tax on the card holders? What is the ratio of the act imposed?

I think I might cut off some of my credit cards before end of the year (the service tax is imposed on 1st Jan 2010).

Alarming Health Issue. (Treasure Your Loves Ones).

It really scares me to hear news about peoples’ dead recently. It’s happening too frequent in a short period. In a matter of few months, I have lost my father, my sister in-law’s uncle and my auntie this Monday (10/8/09). All dies in a short period.

Today, I received a SMS from my former employer, informing that his ex-wife is dead. I was shocked! I knew her very well. I called her recently to inquire about her health, and she told me everything was okay. It didn’t pass my mind to think that her life was so short. She was only in her mid-years. Even my auntie’s dead is unacceptable. She looks so strong and yet felt so fragile. Everything happens so sudden. Is this an in-coincident or what? I never encounter such an incident where funerals happen so frequent. Last year, I lost a good friend, who has lost the cancer’s battle. This year alone…. Unbearable!

I really hope all those dead have nothing to do with the deadly H1N1 virus. I knew that the virus can attack human immune systems and people who are highly risked include babies, children, pregnant woman, old folks and adults with previous health problems. All these people are highly risked because their immune system is not so defensive as ever. I think people now seldom travel overseas nor outstations. They maybe stick together at home during the weekend instead of shopping at the local markets. Year 2009 is definitely is not a good year. Financial and health is a big issue this year. Let us all hope that the coming year is a turn-about for all of us. Let us all pray for a prosperous living and most importantly, hope all our families and friends stay healthy for eternity.

Bernas' Stakes.

The recent take-over stakes of Bernas by a foreign company, Wang Tak Co Ltd have gave grudges on many people’s face.

When we talk about Bernas, it should be about a national interest. How could a national rice company sold to a foreign country in the first place? It’s quite odd; know doubt that any listed companies can be brought over; but this is not a “normal company”. It’s supposed to be a national service company. The Government is expecting to buy back the Bernas’s stakes from Wan Tak Co. Ltd soon and Wan Tak Co. Ltd has agreed to it. I wonder how much can Wan Tak earn from this deal? Is this the real way of doing business? Sell when the price is high?

Permatang Pasir By-election.

Here we go again… by-election…again! It’s becoming annoying to know that we are having another by-election one after another. Some people must said that this time is different, because it’s unavoidable; natural death.

But I have different opinion about the case. I personally think that it is still avoidable. I was disgusted when I found out that the late Permatang Pasir’s assemblyman is sick for numerous times since before the last general election. Even though he is famous for his cordial relation with everyone and proven track records of his services in his area, this doesn’t means that he should be chosen again by the party to contest. Maybe he can contribute in another way, so that he can get more rest for the betterment of his health.

I really hope in the future, election candidates were screen in term of health, criminal involvement, corruptions and track of job performance or even party hopping records before they were chosen to be an assemblymen or MPs.

Rootbeer Float - Where can you buy???

The weather is damn hot recently. I felt like I’m in the Sahara Desert and my mind kept on thinking about soda drinks and ice-creams or maybe both together. One of my favorite’s drinks is the Rootbeer Floats. I have been having it since I was a kid. The most famous restaurant in the old days located at the PJ State. Frankly it’s quite expensive for a glass of floats so I preferred to make it myself. There is not much different comparing my home-made and the restaurants’. The only different is that I can add as much vanilla ice-creams as I like; which is superb.

I like to buy root beers and some vanilla ice-cream from local store and drink as many glasses I preferred and as often as I wants. Recently I went to lots of retail shops including the famous three hypermarkets to look for A&W rootbeer but I couldn’t find any. Even though there is some brands selling rootbeer, their quality is not up to standard; it’s doesn’t taste “rootbeers” to me. I guessed that “they” stopped the distributions to local stores and hypermarkets to “force” people like me visiting their restaurants to get a hold on their famous “RootBeer Floats”.

Turning from Bad Things to Good One - Internet Cafes.

There is lot of legal and illegal internet cafes mushrooming in the country lately. I’m not saying it is not good for the society, but it should be regulated.

Normally the internet cafes are tinted heavily. One can never see what lies inside it. The environment is very dark. Peoples, even children were seen smoking while playing online games, watching porn sites or even gambling online. Is this the way of internet cafés that going to contribute to our society?

We should give a new good impression that internet cafes should be a multimedia online library where peoples can search and educate themselves online. It should be the tool of searching information. It should be transparent from outside. It should be brightly lighted. It should be warm, with waiters serving drinks or maybe some tit bits too. That’s how internet cafes should look like. Maybe the Coffee Beans and Tea Leafs Cafes should consider investing in the internet cafes along.

Recently there’s news regarding illegal internet cafes been raided. All the monitors and CPUs were confiscated by local city councils. After confiscated, all the computers were demolished immediately. I don’t think it should be demolish at all. It should be going back to the society by giving all the confiscated computers to the needed welfares such as schools, orphan houses, old folk’s homes and etc.

The reason of demolishing it? “The court ordered it to be demolished!” said by one of the local council.

P.s. There is an old saying, “Some things were lifeless but humans were alive; therefore we should be adapted and make changes”.

Pork Porridge at OUG.

Recently I saw news at the paper about a restaurant selling a roti canai and teh tarik for RM1 only!!! The first thing in my mind is that; “Where is that place? I want to go there!”

Foods is getting more and more expensive these days. Where can you get a fine, nice and cheap foods nowadays? I found a good food stall at Overseas Union Garden, located in front of TMC Kopitiam. Just in case you don’t know where TMC is; it is just opposite the BhP Petrol station of OUG. The stall is selling pork testicles porridge (or Chui Cap Chuk in Cantonese). The taste is just right and nice; added with some fish meat in it and it only costs RM2.50 for a normal bowl. If you wanted a larger portion, it was cost you RM3 only!! You tell me where and what can you get for RM2.50 nowadays? Cheese bread from Bread Story and still feeling hungry after eating it? Be real! Remember to go early as "Uncle Porridge" intend to go home after finish selling his porridge. He normally finish work around 7.30pm.(Wow...3 hours of work only per day!!!)

Oh my god! I think I am sick! To be more precise, “Durian-Sick”. I can really cannot resist it and stop by to check the durians if there is a stall selling one. Even though I knew it wasn’t quite healthy to eat durians so often, the smell of it is just too tempting.

I brought my durians on and off over the period of 2 months. This week alone I had been having it 3 times already. Every time I finish my durians, I would tell myself this is my last durians’ feast! But I broke the rules of restriction (again) as I brought some nice ones this afternoon and I got some good excuse for buying it.

I found a stall, I meant 2 lorries loaded with lots of durians along the Loke Yew Road, located in front of the San Peng Fiats. The atmosphere was terrific, crowded with lots of aunties packing durians, just as it was free. I wonder why? I ask the boss and was told that the prices of the durians were a bargain. The D24 durians cost RM6 per kilo, D10 durian RM4 per kilo and durian kampong RM2 EACH!!!!!! Immediately, I began acting like an auntie myself! I took a few plastic bags and fill them up! I brought RM20 durian kampong which consist 10 big ones and 3pcs of D10 durians for RM14 and a Chempedak for RM3 only!!! (I saw the Chempedak selling at Pasar Malam - RM2 for a bag of 5 seeds. Wait till see how many seeds in the Chempedak which I brought.)

I hope this will be my last durian feast of the year. I gained a lot of weight since I ate them. No more for me……this year… (But cannot guarantee if they are selling RM1 per piece later on.)
